When there are many people: try the Treasure Hunt! Hosanna has a photographic Treasure Hunt that is a hit with young and old. Make teams, get the instructions and spread out over the property finding the clues. Look in the chicken coop or above the pig pen or find that boat shed to solve the puzzle. Naturally there is a Hosanna-style prize for the winner! Price – $5 pp or $13 pp including the Farm Tour.
At Hosanna you can have a campfire! Even when you’re in a cabin or hut there is usually a place for enjoying the crackling sound of a campfire. We sell firewood and marshmallows… away you go!
It does not take long for guests at Hosanna to discover the Lily Lake, diving board and sauna. The kids love the free kayaks that can be used on the lake and get seemingly endless enjoyment from our 3 meter diving board. The pontoon offers a great place to splash with the children and escape the summer heat.
The Animal Shelter is located next to the Hosanna House. During feeding times (8am and 5 pm ‘ish’) guests are invited to join Hosanna staff in caring for the animals. During the day guests can enter the guinea pig and rabbit enclosure and the chicken coop (under strict adult supervision). Other animals can be fed and patted through the fence. Animals, often including babies, at Hosanna include:
- Miniature Horses
- Guinea pigs
Glow Worm tunnels
The Glow Worm Tunnel is an amazing and unforgettable adventure along the abandoned railway line that starts 2 km further down Tunnel Rd from the property to the end of the valley. The tunnel is 500m long and the walk along the track is 2.5 km each way, making this evening bushwalk an over 5 km return trip. The glow worms are best seen at night, so the walk is recommended as an evening activity. You can find a map and more information at Reception.
Hosanna is situated 15 km from Mt Warning in its foot hills. Mt Warning can take as little as 1.5 hour up and 1 hr down for the young and fit, or a steady 4 hours for the average. The climb is spectacular, the tracks well maintained and the viewing platforms at the summit offer 360 views to the ocean.
Other National Parks in our area are: Mt Jerusalem, Border Ranges and Nightcap and Lamington.
